Students' perception on the use of poetry for teaching speaking

Poetry is rich in terms of its selectively chosen dictions that have to be read aloud enjoyed. This descriptive qualitative study investigated fourth-semester students' perception on the use poetry teach speaking. Students' perceptions were collected through an archives comprising 75 essay projects about using The result indicated students perceived effective developing six aspects speaking skills, namely vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, comprehension, confidence, and fluency. 41 (54.66%) teaching enriches vocabulary by representing unique words. 16 (21.33%) practices pronunciation reading strategy. In grammar mastery, 8 (10.66%) believed was able familiarize with sentence structure. Four (5.33%) analysis, must comprehend share their interpretation content context used poems. There 4 helps more confident communication. Two (2.66%) fluency could trained exposing rhythm, making intonation improved.
